See IRC 24(a) & 151 & 152. Taxpayers with a qualifying

child are entitled to a child tax credit. The child must be under

age 17, and a US citizen, national, or resident of the US. The

credit begins to be phased out, if your adjusted gross income

reaches $110K, for joint filers, and $75k, for single filers.
