We’ve all heard of and likely visited Expedia, Orbitz, Priceline, and Travelocity to book our flights. But what about some of the great tools that will help you find the best price for your next flight?
Yapta – Price Tracker
A few months ago, we wrote about the best time to book a flight and the historical average suggested Tuesday as the best day. However, we noted that there may be instances in which other days are better. There’s a tool called Yapta that allows you to track flight prices before you buy. Users are notified via alerts when prices drop and when they should buy. Not only is the tool helpful in getting flights at the lowest prices but it also tells you when prices dropped after you booked. We also happened to put out a piece on airfare refunds passengers are entitled to should the price of the ticket drop after it’s purchased. This information is also tracked by Yapta as they will notify you of any price drops and help you claim your refund. The site also offers business solutions which help reduce wasteful travel spending that is common with last minute business travel.
AirfareWatchdog – Bargain Hunters
This is a great site for those that will leave on the drop of a hat when they see a special deal for a destination on their bucket list. In the past, we would have to flip through the Sunday paper for any special deals. The team over at AirfareWatchdog does all of that legwork for you. They signup for all sorts of rewards programs and scour the internet for promotional codes and discounts. When you sign up to the site, you’ll be notified of all of these deals which will unquestionably save bargain hunters time.
WhichBudget – What about Europe?
If you’re planning on traveling internationally and throughout Europe over a span of a few weeks or more, look no further than WhichBudget. This site is indexed with thousands of local flights which helps travelers find the cheapest flights for getting around even the most obscure places in the world.
