I use my personal cell phone for work. It is the only way that I communicate for work and I don't have a land line or other phone lines. Can I deduct my phone bill as a business expense? Would I need to keep a record of how much time is spent for business and how much is spent for personal things?

ANSWER

The BIDaWIZ Team's Answer:

Per IRS guidelines, you would need to itemize the bills for business versus personal use. You can only deduct charges associated with business use.
