Does a non-profit organization have to file anything with the IRS in order to change their accounting method from Accrual to Cash basis?

Yes, the organization must file Form 3115, Application for Change in Accounting Method, to change its accounting method. Also, an organization that makes a change in accounting, must report any adjustment required by section 481(a) on Schedule D (Form 990), Parts XI through XIII.
