I'm a self-employed musician who performs at night clubs. Am I considered an independent contractor or statutory employee?

ANSWER

The BIDaWIZ Team's Answer:

Statutory employees include full-time life insurance agents, certain agent and commission drivers, and traveling salespersons and certain homeworkers. Did your receive a W-2 or 1099-MISC form? If you received a 1099-MISC form as is the case with most musicians, it's likely that you are an independent contractor and not a statutory employee.
