If we sell sporting goods to a company in Australia, does our Florida based company have to charge sales tax? What if the company is a wholesale buyer?
ANSWER
The BIDaWIZ Team's Answer:
You do not have to charge sales tax as you do not have nexus with the client. Having said that, Australia goes have a GST tax for sales of $75,000 or more. The import-export clause would also protect the Australia client from being subject to a state sales tax duty.
