If I buy a product from Texas, all payments are made to Texas, and I am a California resident, why do I pay a sales tax? I was told that it is because they have an office in California. Since no transactions come from California, why am I charged sales

ANSWER

The BIDaWIZ Team's Answer:

They are correct. Since the vendor has an office in CA, they have established nexus

with CA. Accordingly, the vendor must collect, and remit, the CA sales tax, when the

vendor makes a sale to a CA resident.
