My son who has not been able to find work for over a year, has been residing with us. I have been supplying his needs for 10 months. He is 34 years old, can I claim him on my tax return ?

ANSWER

Expert Linda Burroughs's Answer:

In general you would be able to claim him as a dependent if  you provided more than half to his total suppot for the taxable year, he was not married, and he did not meet the minimum requirement for filing taxes on his own.
