If I'm a self-employed owner of a sole proprietorship, can I still claim business expenses on Form 2106 that I pay out of pocket?
ANSWER
The BIDaWIZ Team's Answer:
There's a difference between reporting your out of pocket business expenses as an employee versus as a self employed individual. Form 2106 is used for employee business expenses and Schedule C is used for self employed individuals. If you make this mistake, you need to file an amended form 1040x.
