Does being added as an authorized user to a credit card account improve your credit score?

ANSWER

The BIDaWIZ Team's Answer:

Unfortunately, it will not improve your credit score unless you became a joint account holder/owner. This is assuming that the account remained in positive standing for the duration of the term. The downside is that if, for any reason, the card goes into negative status, the negative information could show up on your credit report. In that situation, it would not be correctly reported on your report, and could be removed through the dispute process, but would require work from you in order to get it updated correctly. It is a tactic for the credit company to try all means necessary to collect on the debt, and sometimes it works.
