I own my apartment free and clear. I'm getting married in the next 6 months so I'm looking to buy a larger house. My credit is perfect. However, my fiancée filed for bankruptcy about 3 years ago. My question is should “I” buy the house under my credit? Would her bankruptcy be a large detriment to buying a house? What is the soundest financial decision?

ANSWER

The BIDaWIZ Team's Answer:

You will be forced to secure the home purchase, based on your credit status.

Your fiance's bankruptcy precludes this individual from being included in the

purchase transaction.
