I live in Illinois and work in Iowa, what state return do I file?
ANSWER
The BIDaWIZ Team's Answer:
Since you are an IL resident, you must file an IL tax return; regardless,
of where the income is earned. When you prepare the annual W-4 form,
& the IL equivalent form, confirm that your correct state of residency is
indicated thereon. If Iowa taxes are erroneously withheld, from your pay,
you must file a non-resident Iowa tax return, and claim a 100% refund
of any Iowa taxes that you paid.
