I retired last year, and started receiving social security payments. Do I have to pay taxes on my social security benefits?

ANSWER

Expert Todd Alexander's Answer:

It depends upon your total benefits and other income.  Generally, 50% is the maximum taxable amount, but in some cases up to 85% can be taxed.
