My wife and bought a home on November 6, 2009. We meet the criteria for the second home buyer tax credit. Is November 6th ok or does it begin on Nov. 7th?

You are ok: see IRC 36, of the "worker, home ownership, and business 

assistance act," of 2009. The credit equals 10% of the purchase price; not

to exceed $8,000. The "11/6/09" cutoff, that you reference, invokes additional

restrictions, to qualify for the credit, for purchases made after 11/6/09.
