I had a question regarding the 2009 first time home buyers Tax Credits. My fiance is planning on buying my grandparent's home. However, I know part of the Tax Credits states you cannot buy the home from an ancestor. If he buys the home before we get married and the home is only in his name would we be able to still receive the first time home buyers credit?
