I am handicap. If I get a statement from my doctor outlining my disability and hired in home help for child care and cleaning service, is there a tax exemption for the cost of these services?
ANSWER
The BIDaWIZ Team's Answer:
See IRC 67(d). All necessary disability expenses, that you
incur in relation to employment, are deductible, on Schedule A,
of your Form 1040, and they are exempt from the "AGI 2% floor limitation."
All of your medical expenses are also deductible, on Schedule A.
See also IRC 21. You may also claim a "child and dependent care" credit,
on Form 2441.
